In March, Grace Schroeder of Edgerton and Grace Bok of Hicksville were named as winners of two different scholarship competitions sponsored by NWEC. Their local wins qualified them to compete, in April, at the statewide level for additional awards in the competitions sponsored by Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives (OEC).
Schroeder, the daughter of Adam and Collette Schroeder, has been awarded a $1,500 Honorable Mention scholarship in the OEC Children of Members competition. Grace joined twenty-three other students representing each of Ohio’s electric distribution cooperatives who competed for over $44,200 in scholarship awards.
Bok, daughter of Darren Bok, was announced as the winner of the OEC Technical Scholarship competition and has been awarded $2,000. OEC offers this scholarship to help electric cooperative members or their children pursue technical training. Since starting this scholarship in 2017, OEC has awarded $17,500 in technical scholarships.

NWEC is proud of the success of both of these students and wishes them the best of luck as they pursue their educational endeavors.
