Scholarship Programs

Supporting the future

North Western Electric Cooperative is proud to offer FOUR scholarship programs to assist local students who pursue higher education.

Applications for all the scholarships are generally available in mid-December. Scholarship rules and guidelines for each competition are provided along with the applications.

 

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ONLY


Children of Members Scholarship

North Western Electric Cooperative, Inc. awards two (2) first place cash awards (one male and one female) of $1,500 each and two (2) second place cash awards (one male and one female) of $750 each.  One first place winner will compete in the statewide contest for additional scholarship funds.

 

Touchstone Energy® Achievement Scholarship

North Western Electric Cooperative, Inc. awards one (1) cash award of $1,000 to a graduating senior who has excelled despite personal challenges and who has exhibited the same values in their lives as the Touchstone Energy® brand: accountability, integrity, innovation and commitment to community.

 

Gertrude Studer Memorial Scholarship

North Western Electric Cooperative Inc., along with the Edgerton Area Foundation will award a $500 scholarship to one Williams County student in memory of longtime Edgerton resident, Gertrude Studer.  Gertrude is credited with attending every annual meeting of the cooperative since its inception.  She also loved attending the county fair and was involved in 4-H and FFA organizations throughout her life.

 

HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS AND CURRENT TECHNICAL SCHOOL STUDENTS


PowerUP Technical Scholarship

Applicants can be:

  • high school graduates enrolling in a technical program
  • current technical school students (regardless of age)
  • those enrolling in a post-undergraduate technical program (regardless of age)
  • Additional rules apply so read the instructions included with the application carefully.

Advance to the statewide competition

  • North Western Electric Cooperative, Inc. will award one (1) cash award of $1,000 locally.
  • Winner can advance to compete in the statewide contest with a chance to win more cash.

CHILDREN OF MEMBERS SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

First Place (girl's division) - $1,500 award:

McKenna Kimpel
Fairview High School
Daughter of Kristi & Josh Kimpel

McKenna was also chosen as the Overall Winner and advanced to the statewide competition. There, she was selected as the 5th place winner and was awarded an additional $2,800 scholarship. 

First Place (boy's division) - $1,500 award:

Aiden Casterline
Fairview High School
Son of Jamie & Tony Casterline

Second Place (girl's division) - $750 award:

Daniella Cheeseman
Stryker High School
Daughter of Susan & Brian Cheeseman

Second Place (boy's division) - $750 award:

Jay Dockery
Four County Career Center / Edgerton High School
Son of Tammy & Kyle Dockery
