Buckeye Power’s Cardinal Generating Station, located on the Ohio River in Brilliant, Ohio, is one of the cleanest coal-fired power plants in the world. The plant supplies power to all the electric co-ops in the state of Ohio, including North Western Electric Cooperative. For an opportunity to see it in action, join us Sept. 14 as we head to scenic southeast Ohio.
NWEC member-owners, along with co-op members from Paulding Putnam Electric and Tricounty Rural Electric, will be sharing a charter bus for the one-day trip. The tour is FREE, but seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The trip is only offered to NWEC member-owners who have not previously attended.
The air-conditioned bus with restroom facilities will leave the Northtowne Mall parking lot in Defiance at 7:30 a.m. and will return around 8:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided prior to arriving at the plant. You are responsible for your evening meal (at a fast food restaurant). Bottled water will be available on the bus.
