Wagner joins board

In June, the Board of Trustees selected member James Wagner to fill the open position in District 6. The district comprises Adams and Tiffin townships in Defiance county; Springfield township in Williams county; and Ridgeville township in Henry county.

The seat became available after the incumbent chose to not pursue an additional term. The process to fill the open seat began with a call for petitions from any eligible members residing in the district who wished to be placed on the ballot during the 2026 annual election. No petitions were received. Pursuant to the Code of Regulations and NWEC policy, the next step required a Trustee Search and Selection Committee to be formed. The committee was composed of three current trustees and three members from the district in which the vacancy existed. After searching for and reviewing possible candidates, the committee then presented their recommendations to the remaining board members and a unanimous decision was required for the final selection.
