Changes to Trustee Nomination Process

Changes to Trustee Nomination Process

During the 2017 Annual Meeting a change to the nomination process was voted on and accepted by all attending members. The new process as described in ARTICLE IV, Section 4 of the North Western Electric Cooperative Code of Regulations requires eligible members who are interested in being placed on the 2018 Official Ballot to complete and submit a petition. The deadline to receive petitions has passed and no petitions were received.

The two districts to be voted on at the 2018 Annual Meeting are District 1 comprised of Northwest, Florence and St. Joseph townships in Williams County and District 2 comprised of Milford, Hicksville and Carryall townships in Defiance County. The incumbents in each of these districts have chosen to remain a candidate and will automatically be placed on the ballot. Andrew Farnham is the incumbent for District 1 and Mitchel Headley is the incumbent for District 2.

During the annual meeting to be held on April 21, 2018 at Edon Northwest School in Edon, OH, the Chairman of the Board (or his designee) will call for additional nominations from the floor. If there are nominations, those members will be considered write-in candidates and an election will be held. If there are no further nominations at the meeting then the incumbents shall be considered elected by affirmation and no election shall be deemed necessary for that particular district.
